The biggest surprise on the library shelf is when you suddenly find yourself, the hidden you, inside a book; and wonder how the author knew.

John Silva

This is my fourth year teaching technology and my thirty-third year at Guerneville School. I’ve always had a passion for computers and now I have the opportunity to share that passion with my students, who just happen to be the best students in the world.

Rebecca Vanden Heuvel

3rd and 4th  Grades

Teaching students is a wonderful career. I especially appreciate enabling students to develop lifelong knowledge and to see them take off with it.

Mary Bracken

Middle School History

I have a deep satisfaction teaching middle schoolers about history. It is not dead – These students are living, learning and changing their world as they experience the past, participate in the present, and make an impact on their future.

Kari Johnson

Middle School Science

"The best thing about being a science teacher is seeing how excited students become when they make connections.  The concepts we explore in science help people better understand their world.  If we understand how our natural world works, maybe we'll take better care of it?"

Nancy Thomas

5th – 8th RSP

This is the toughest job that I will ever love.

Kathy Smith

We are all learning every day, each in our own way. I have been living and teaching in
Guerneville for over 20 years. It is a very special community and school. I am happy to have the privilege of working here. Along with my job as K-4 Special Ed teacher, I have especially enjoyed developing the garden with Paula Green in this last few years.

Veronica  Darrimon

“You can count the number of seeds in an apple, but can you count the number of apples in a seed?” - Robert Schuler

Stan Johnson

Band

Band is not an option. It is the only thing.

Roger Page

Community Day School

I enjoy teaching in the Community Day School because I have an opportunity to work one-on-one with my students everyday. I also get the chance to work with students on subjects from early civilization to science and algebra. Together we make the Community Day School a place where everyone can learn and succeed.

Brenda Robinson

5th  Grade

One thing I love about teaching in this small town is that I get to watch my students grow up and take their places in our community and the world. I love to hear about their successes and to bump into them years after they’ve been in my class.

Doug  Robinson

4th and 5th Grades

Happiness depends upon ourselves.
